She spearheaded a door-to-door vaccine awareness program, ensuring access for the region’s most vulnerable populations. Her commitment to public health led her to serve as a White House Fellow at the Office of the First Lady and the Department of Health and Human Services in 2022.
Vanessa founded the Healthy Vida Clinic, a functional medicine practice committed to making specialized care accessible and affordable. Recognized as a “Texas Healthcare Hero,” she draws inspiration from her roots as a dyslexic learner, the daughter of educators, and the granddaughter of immigrant farmworkers, to champion health equity for underserved communities.
