Janni Lehrer-Stein (she/her) is a retired attorney and disability rights activist. She served two terms on the National Council on Disability during the Obama Administration. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the American Foundation for the Blind, where she chairs the Public Policy and Research Advisory Committee, and is a member of the Forum on Aging, disability, and Independence for the National Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine. Janni has recently been appointed to serve on the NIH Eye Council, a Federal Advisory Commission that addresses research across the diverse spectrum of eye disease. She lives in San Francisco, CA, with her husband and guide dog, Shiloh.
